Create an SOS button in chat for people who need support
It's fine for people to have as much fun in the chat, but I've noticed that there are occasions in which a cry for help from a member can go unnoticed if people are talking and posting at once since it can get pushed down pretty quickly. Perhaps some kind of feature that will visually signal the need for help would help people catch it more readily so that they can do what we do best, which is drop the chatter and support them.

Ignore Button
If you should need to ignore someone for some certain reason, the person to be ignored should be completely wiped out from view, in all aspects of the forum from the ignore button pusher.
Its not something I would like to use on a constant basis but a tool I would like to have in case those circumstances arise.

Might make it into WQD2011 as an optional ability.

we need 2 different chat rooms. 1 for support, 1 for fun :)
I see people getting upset when people are joking around in the chatroom when people really need help. 2 chat rooms would solve this problem

new forum
I have a suggestion for a new forum on WQD – maybe a subforum of the DMZ?
Sharksandwich and I (weens) were just talking about how we find that we don’t have many options for healthy participation on WQD. We do some journaling, and some supporting, but we really like to mix it up. There is a handful of us who really enjoy debating controversial topics, and know how to argue without spontaneously combusting or devolving into ad hominem attacks or questioning others’ commitment to sobriety, when someone disagrees with us.
What we were thinking about is creating a subforum… more

Saving Our Journals
A way of saving our journals so we can keep a copy - perhaps in MS Word - without having to go to print view and copy and paste individual pages at a time

create a WQD wiki!
I think this would be essential to our website. This would be in the format of wikipedia. It would be a searchable part of wqd highly organized into categories, helping newbies and people that have been here from day 1. anything from how to change your font to how to create a journal to common words and phrases we use here, definitions of alcoholic/rehability- related terms, the history of alcohlism etc etc etc would be on it. Any user would be able to add and edit the wiki, pending moderator approval. It would be something like http://wiki.netwarriors.org

give me back /me in the chatbox :D
/me is a widely used command in chatboxes that suggests an action. It just gives a more 3d sense to a chat, and it can be fun. For example instead of saying "I am eating a banana" you could type "/me is eating a banana" and in the chat it would say:
*Twincity is eating a banana*
related to this, other commands could be implemented such as /stats to give the top shouters list, or even similar to my other suggestion but less dramatic a "/help" command which displays a prominent message that you need help in the chatbox

Will come back.

mark unread any unread subscribed threads prior to logoff
This would hopefully allow logging in and having the pointer for last unread post be retained from the unread session for the next logon.

Woman's only forum~ so we can discuss women's issues openly
This would be a forum that only women (maybe gay men- cause they have great insight) could join. This would allows us to discuss woman issues without fear of being criticized by the males here.

Option to subscribe to (discussion threads in) a social groups.
Well, basically the title says it all. It would be great if we had the option to subscribe to discussion threads in social groups as well. I think this would make it a lot easier to get a better flow of conversation going in this part of WQD. As of right now, i think many people just check the groups sporadically and i think they would be a great way to get people with similar interests apart from quitting together if only it wold be more accessible :)
